The worst man-made disaster is war, but America is perpetually at it, which may soon result in World War III, thus destroying us all as a species.
Why has America been such a warlike nation throughout its history?
Simply put, America was founded as a colonial power and is now the last big colonial power standing—It is already deeply bankrupted morally, but soon economically as well!
1. What is colonialism?
Below is an excerpt from Wikipedia – Colonialism.
Colonialism is the exploitation of people and of resources by a foreign group. Colonizers monopolize political power and hold conquered societies and their people to be inferior to their conquerors in legal, administrative, social, cultural, or biological terms.[6][7] While frequently advanced as an imperialist regime, colonialism can also take the form of settler colonialism, whereby colonial settlers invade and occupy territory to permanently replace an existing society with that of the colonizers, possibly towards a genocide of native populations.[8][9]
Decolonization, which started in the 18th century, gradually in waves led to the independence of colonies, with a particular large wave of decolonization happening in the aftermath of World War II between 1945 and 1975.[13][14]
In summary:
- Colonialism was started in Western Europe in the 15th century.
- The end of WWII was the beginning of the end of colonialism worldwide.
2. Is America colonial?
Yes! Let us divide American history into three periods as follows:
- 1492-1776
- 1776-1945
- 1945-present.
To briefly elaborate on each …
2.1 1492-1776
America before 1776 was obviously colonial, as the European migrants in America called themselves “colonists.” End of discussion?
Why 1492?

2.2 1776-1945
America was founded by/of/for the rich [colonists], who simply did not want to pay [more] taxes. Additionally, they wanted to expand America beyond the original 13 colonies against the Royal Proclamation of 1763. For more, read What is the American Revolution, anyway (V3)?
After the American Revolution, which ended in 1783, Americans brutally continued colonialization throughout North America without Britain (image below).
After expanding coast to coast in the mainland, America ventured overseas (e.g., Hawaii, Guam, and the Philippines).
2.3 1945-present
After WWII ended in 1945, America “colonized” the globe in two major ways:
- Installing military bases all over the world.
- Spreading a tried-and-failed ideology (and a political system) called “democracy” sometimes by force!

Now, if you argue that post-WWII America is imperialism, which is worse than colonialism, fine!
3. Why is colonialism finally ending worldwide?
China’s comeback!
China offers a real and significant model of prosperity without colonialism. For example, China has lifted some 800 million people out of poverty over the past four decades without firing a single shot or dropping a single bomb. It is totally unprecedented in history, especially in scale, speed, and peaceful development!
China’s comeback has unveiled two biggest lies of colonialism (1492-2040):
- America is exceptional.
- Democracy is a valid form of government.
To briefly elaborate on each …
3.1 America is exceptional
America is exceptional in many ways, of which one example is shown below.
For more, read Is America exceptional, really?
3.2 Democracy is a valid form of government
Democracy has been a proven failure throughout history without a single example of lasting success (e.g., 200 years).
America is no exception – Look at the image below and think!

4. Why will Colonial America end by 2040?
That is when China is expected to surpass the U.S. GDP (Gross domestic product (GDP): China vs. the US). More critically, the U.S. would have self-destructed so much by then that its role in the multipolar world would be second to China’s, thus finally ending colonialism (1492-2040).
More specifically, America’s economy has been sustained by three major factors:
- Wars: It destroys America not only morally but also economically.
- Petrodollar: It will end soon. Here is a recent news story: Saudi Arabia ‘open’ to petroyuan, closer China ties, minister says.
- Abundance of natural resources: This alone cannot carry America any further.
5. Discussion
We are witnessing the end of colonialism (1492-2040), with America being the last big colonial power standing, resisting relentlessly and recklessly!
5.1 Relentless resistance
America, leading the West (aka “former colonial powers”), has been doing everything possible to:
- Cripple China, Tonya Harding style.
- Prevent the Chinese model from spreading while continuing to mess up with the world, especially in the Mideast and Ukraine!
5.2 Reckless resistance
Both China and Russia are nuclear powers!
Unfortunately, some crazy Americans seem to believe that America can win a nuclear war against China or Russia, or both at the same time!
For more, read President Biden in the Real World of Three New Kingdoms.
6. Closing
Colonialism is finally ending (1492-2040), with America collapsing as the last big colonial power.
America may choose to end it peacefully or take the world down with it by inciting WW III (Will America lie all the way into WW III?).
America, reform our failing political system, as I have suggested (History 2.0 – China’s Comeback vs. America’s Decline), or become a fiddle, second to China!
