Is America brain-dead?

Is America brain-dead?

Yes!

America is brain-dead.

There is no better example to illustrate it than via the Trump phenomenon, which has been haunting America’s political establishment over the past six years at least, and counting …

1. Donald Trump vs. the establishment

Three exemplary publications covering the Trump phenomenon over the past six years:

Is Trump really a threat to American democracy?

Yes!

But American democracy is actually much worse than Donald Trump! Two main reasons:

  • It’s democracy that put a demagogue like Donald Trump in the White House.
  • Trump will be gone sooner or later, but American democracy will continue to fail, resulting in more Trump-like figures in the White House, if not Trump 2024!

In short, “it’s democracy, stupid!” America is brain-dead because America’s establishment simply does not get it!

2. What is democracy?

Read Wikipedia – Democracy.

Here is my simple definition [of “contemporary” democracy]: one person, one vote, without discrimination based on race or gender.

3. What is American democracy?

By my simple definition above, America was not a democracy until 1965, thanks to the Voting Rights Act of 1965.

4. What’s wrong with democracy?

Democracy is a proven failure throughout history, without a single example of lasting success (e.g., 200 years).

Below is an excerpt from Alexander Tytler on democracy:

A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship. The average age of the world’s greatest civilizations has been 200 years. These nations have progressed through this sequence: From bondage to spiritual faith; From spiritual faith to great courage; From courage to liberty; From liberty to abundance; From abundance to selfishness; From selfishness to apathy; From apathy to dependence; From dependence back into bondage.

5. What’s wrong with American democracy?

American democracy is wrong because democracy is wrong!

6. What is really behind the Trump phenomenon?

America failed so miserably by 2016 that Americans were willing to try something – anything – very different: Donald Trump. As a matter of fact, Trump was the only American President truly elected by “We the People” (vs. the establishment) over the past 100 years at least!

Unfortunately for America, President Trump did not work out (and he was crazy). So, America chose to settle back on Joe Biden in 2020 by electing him the President …

7. President Trump vs. American democracy

President Trump was courageous in challenging the establishment. For example, he initiated no new war, which alone should make him outstanding against his predecessors back to Jimmy Carter at least.

Overall, however, President Trump failed for two main reasons:

  • He simply did not have what it took to transform America.
  • He is a very flawed person, if not a crook.

Was he a threat to American democracy?

Yes!

Should American democracy be threatened?

Yes!

America must continue to search for a great peaceful transformational leader …

8. Discussion

Once again, it’s democracy, stupid! America is brain-dead because America’s establishment simply does not get it!

Two main reasons why America is so brain-dead:

In short, it’s payback time!

America, reform our failing political system, as I have suggested (History 2.0 – China’s Comeback vs. America’s Decline), or face a bloody revolution – Read A quarter of Americans open to taking up arms against government, poll says.

9. Closing

America, as a country, is brain-dead.

However, there are many individual Americans who still have the best minds in the world. The video below offers one prominent example.
