Three main forms of government

Three main forms of government

Currently, there are three main forms of government:

  • Monarchy
  • Republic – democracy
  • Republic – autocracy.

Their relationships are highlighted by the cover image.

1. What is “monarchy”?

Read Wikipedia – Monarchy.

Simply put, a monarchy is ruled by a king or queen, and the throne is inherited along the bloodline. There are two types of monarchy:

2. What is “republic”?

Read Wikipedia – Republic.

Simply put, a republic is not a monarchy. Because everything is for the “public,” a republic is, by definition, socialistic!

America is no exception. America has been socialistic since Day 1—American slavery is one of the worst forms of socialism: socialism that supports capitalism with free labor!

There are two types of republics:

  • Republic-democracy.
  • Republic-autocracy.

2.1 What is “democracy”?

Read Wikipedia – Democracy.

In short, it is the election, stupid!

2.2 What is “autocracy”?

Below is an excerpt from Wikipedia – Autocracy.

In short, it is the selection, stupid!

3. A little bit of history

For at least 3,000 years prior to the American Revolution (1765-1783), monarchy was the most dominant form of government.

Two ancient alternatives, a democracy in Ancient Greece and a republic in Ancient Rome, were tried some 2,000 years ago without lasting success (e.g., 200 years).

In the late 18th century, two significant republics were formed anew: America and France. Since then, many republics have been born, mostly in the West.

In the East, a new form of republic called “communism” was tried out in the 20th century, with the USSR (1917-1991) and China (1949-1976) being the most prominent examples. Both failed, disastrously.

Meanwhile, many Western republics evolved into democracy, as if it were new, with some success until recently, when China emerged as a formidable competitor with a new form of republic called “state capitalism,” with autocracy instead of democracy!

4. Republic and democracy are separable

It is time for the world to clearly separate these two notions: republic and democracy, thanks to autocracy in general and China specifically.

5. Discussion

Republic is a more advanced form of government than monarchy.

What, then, is the better form of government for a republic: democracy (e.g., America) or autocracy (e.g., China)?

The latter, because China’s autocracy is truly for the people, while America’s democracy has been [mostly] for the rich!

More precisely, America is not really a republic per se, but a plutocracy, which may need a category of its own …

6. What is “plutocracy”?

Read Wikipedia – Plutocracy.

Simply put, a plutocracy is a republic for the rich. Therefore, America is a plutocracy, because it was founded for the rich and remains so today.

7. Closing

Overall, China’s autocracy is better than any democracy, IHMO at least.

America, reform our failing political system, as I have suggested (History 2.0 – China’s Comeback vs. America’s Decline), or become a fiddle, second to China.
