Dancing Queens & Kings: Call for Participation (6)

Dancing Queens & Kings: Call for Participation (6)

My forthcoming book, “Dancing Queens & Kings,” is calling for participation. The only requirement is that you have competed at the USDC or OSB and have an interesting story to tell. Below is the new and final timeline:

  • 12/31/2023: 1 page highlighting your compelling story in pro/am ballroom dancing.
  • 1/31/2024: 10-page full story.
  • 4/30/2024: Book review by Sam Sodano.
  • 6/30/2024: Publication at Amazon.

I am looking for 40 stories and will accept up to 50 submissions of 1 page (1st come, 1st accepted). After your 1 page is accepted, your 10-page is almost guaranteed to be included in the book, unless it is so poorly written that it is totally unsalvageable.

In this post, I will provide eight examples of 1 page as follows (age group):

  • Pamela Melton (S2).
  • Toni Tallerino (S1).
  • Elaine Krieger (S1).
  • Jane Zhang (S1).
  • Joan Goddard (S1).
  • Brian Ames (C).
  • Gretchen Beckwith (C).
  • Amber Haider (B).

1. Example 1: Pamela Melton

2. Example 2: Toni Tallerino

3. Example 3: Elaine Krieger

4. Example 4: Jane Zhang

5. Example 5: Brian Ames

6. Example 6: Joan Goddard

7. Example 7: Gretchen Beckwith

8. Example 8: Amber Haider

9. Discussion

Eight examples, eight different stories!

There has never been a book like this, nor will there be in the foreseeable future. So, seize the opportunity to make history along with the industry’s “who is who” – No guts, no glory!

Like all my writings, this book strives to be intellectually rigorous. For example, nobody in the book claims to be a US champion, let alone a world champion. Instead, state, “she won at USDC 2023 or OSB 2023”.

Like all my writings, this book strives to be time-testable. For example, twenty years from now, you would be very happy to read this book again, recalling your brilliant past …
