1. What is colonialism?
Below is an excerpt from Wikipedia – Colonialism.

- Colonialism was started by the Western Europeans in the 15th century.
- The end of WWII was the beginning of the end of colonialism worldwide.
2. Is America colonial?
Yes!
Let me divide American history into three periods as follows:
- 1492-1776
- 1776-1945
- 1945-present.

2.1 1492-1776
America before 1776 was obviously colonial, as the European migrants in America called themselves “colonists” – End of discussion?

2.2 1776-1945
America was founded by/of/for the rich [colonists], who simply did not want to pay [more] taxes. Additionally, they wanted the possibility of expanding America beyond the original 13 colonies against Royal Proclamation of 1763.

After the American Revolution ended in 1783, Americans brutally and ruthlessly continued [British] colonialization throughout North America, without Britain (e.g., Trail of Tears)!
After expanding coast to coast in North America, America ventured overseas (e.g., Hawaii, Guam, and the Philippines).
2.3 1945-present
After WWII ended in 1945, America “colonized” the globe in two major ways:
- Installing military bases all over the world.
- Spreading a tried-and-failed ideology (and a political system) called “democracy,” even by force sometimes!

3. Why is colonialism finally ending worldwide?
China’s comeback!
China offers a significant model of prosperity without colonialism. For example, China has lifted some 800 million people out of poverty over the past four decades without firing a single shot or dropping a single bomb abroad. This kind of rapid societal advancement is totally unprecedented in history, especially in terms of scale, speed, and peaceful development!
Very profoundly, China’s comeback has unveiled two biggest lies of colonialism:
- America is exceptional.
- Democracy is a valid form of government.

3.1 America is exceptional
America is exceptional in many ways, of which some examples are shown below.

3.2 Democracy is a valid form of government
Democracy is a proven failure throughout history without a single example of lasting success (e.g., 200 years).
America is no exception. For more, read America: It is democracy, stupid!
4. Why will Colonial America end by 2040?
Two main reasons:
- That is when China is expected to surpass America in GDP (Gross domestic product (GDP): China vs. the US).
- More critically, America would have self-destructed so much by then (‘They are preparing for war’: An expert on civil wars discusses where political extremists are taking this country) that its role in the multi-polar world would be second to China’s, thus ending colonialism, finally (1492-2040).
More specifically, America’s economy has been sustained by three major factors:
- Wars: It destroys America morally, if not economically.
- Petrodollar: It will end soon. Here is a 2024 news story: Saudi Arabia ‘open’ to petroyuan, closer China ties, minister says.
- Abundance in natural resources: This alone cannot carry America much further.
5. Why must Colonial America end ASAP?
America is a threat to mankind! Three perspectives:

Two notes:
- Donald Trump is the first antiwar American President after Jimmy Carter. So, if you replace Trump with Biden, the threat may be 82% instead of 41%!
- Bush II is the world’s #1 war criminal this century (Desmond Tutu calls for Blair and Bush to be tried over Iraq).
In short, to make the world safer, America must destroy two things at home: America: the evil MIC and the ugly culture of war.
Impossibly difficult!
6. Discussion
We are witnessing the end of colonialism (1492-2040), with America being the last big colonial power standing, resisting relentlessly and recklessly!
6.1 Relentless resistance
America, leading the West (aka “former colonial powers”), has been doing everything possible to
- cripple China, Tonya Harding style.
- prevent the Chinese model from spreading, while continuing to mess up with the world, especially in the Middle East and Ukraine.
6.2 Reckless resistance
Both China and Russia are nuclear powers!
Unfortunately, some crazy Americans seem to believe that America can win a nuclear war against China or Russia, or both at the same time!

7. Closing
Colonialism is finally ending (1492-2040), with America collapsing as the last big colonial power.
America may choose to end it peacefully or take the world down with it by inciting WWIII (Will America lie all the way into WW III?).
America, reform our failing political system, as I have suggested (History 2.0 – China’s Comeback vs. America’s Decline), or become a fiddle, second to China!
