I have been trying to write on this subject for a while (The uproar over Diane Feinstein, explained). This recent news story has finally got me going: Nancy Pelosi Says She’ll Seek Reelection In 2024.
Simply put, in terms of aging leaders, the USA today remarkably resembles the USSR in the 1980s. Hear me out …
1. The USSR in the 1980s
The image below highlights all the leaders throughout the history of the USSR.
As you can see, most of them were long-serving, with the 1980s being an exception: two aging leaders died on the job in a row, resulting in the emergence a young and energic leader named Mikhail Gorbachev, who turned out be a total disaster for the USSR! Three informative readings:
- Mikhail Gorbachev vs. Deng Xiaoping.
- What is Russia, anyway?
- America: Keep vilifying President Putin?
2. The USA in the 2020s
The image below highlights the USA in the 2020s, in terms of the aging leaders.
Worse yet for America, the image below highlights the forthcoming nightmare in 2024. Most Americans know it and do not want to see it (Most Americans don’t want a Biden-Trump rematch in 2024), but there is no way to change it!
Why is that?
3. Discussion
Governance is hard.
Regarding the aging leaders, the USA today is even worse than it was in the 1790s! Specifically, here is my explanation of the Nancy Pelosi phenomenon:
- Power is addictive. America does not know how to address it at all, resulting in a bunch of career politicians like Nancy Pelosi working for themselves while pretending to serve the country.
- Voters are too selfish and ignorant to vote out their aging (often bad) politicians.
More profoundly, read Western liberal democracy is a lie!
What, then, is the solution?
Change – The image below highlights a possible solution.
4. More discussion
No positive and significant change is possible in America for one main reason: Most Americans simply do not get it (see image below), thanks to the brainwashing over the past 247 years, and counting.

5. Still more discussion

6. Closing
Regarding the aging leaders, the USA in the 2020s remarkably resembles the USSR in the 1980s. Will the USA change with an outcome like that in the USSR?
America, reform our failing political system, as I have suggested (History 2.0 – China’s Comeback vs. America’s Decline), or face a bloody revolution at home (A quarter of Americans open to taking up arms against government, poll says)!
