An important component of supply is Production

The full World Production Report can be accessed HERE   It is a very interesting report with many maps showing the production in many parts of the world. It is too many maps for me to include in this article but it is very worthwhile reading.

Focusing on the U.S.

This shows the harvest progress but not the quantities harvested.  It shows the percentage of the acres harvested. What is missing is the acres planted and the yield per acre. What is shown above is where we stand with harvesting the acres that were planted and not replanted mid-way through the planting cycle. As you can see the harvest for corn, soybeans, and cotton were all ahead of their five-year average. Winter wheat is not doing as well as last year. From the perspective of getting crops planted and harvested it has been a good year. There is more information in the Weekly U.S. Weather and Crop Bulletin that would provide more information. Some information on production is provided in the WASDE  report shown earlier in this article. Putting all the information together can be challenging.

I hope you found this article interesting and useful.
