Snow Drought Report Posted January 11, 2024

This is mostly from a NIDIS Drought.gov article that was issued on January 10, 2023. I included most of it but you can access the full report HERE.  The links in that report are live so some may want that. However, I have added some additional information at the end of this article that you will not find in the Drought.gov report.

Snow Drought Conditions Summary

Snow water equivalent (SWE) is below normal across nearly the entire western U.S. as snow drought conditions have worsened in most regions over the past month. Dry and warm conditions have caused much of this snow drought, with the most severe snow drought conditions in the Northern Rocky Mountains.
